Choi Gil Nam
Effects Supervisor at DNEG Vancouver
Choi Gil Nam is a VFX artist and educator with over 23 years of experience working at leading studios, including Weta Digital, Industrial Light & Magic, and Digital Domain. He combines hands-on industry expertise with a strong commitment to teaching, holding roles at Capilano University as Instructor, Visual College of Art and Design as Head of Media, and Kwantlen Polytechnic University as Lecturer.
Choi's career includes credits on major Hollywood projects such as Stranger Things, The Adam Project, The Suicide Squad, The Meg, and Pacific Rim, among many others. He holds a Master’s Degree in Multimedia and 3D Animation from De Montfort University, underpinning his expertise in both technical and creative aspects of visual effects.
Unlike other tutorials where you just follow along and make a cool picture, Choi Gil Nam explains — in detail — the workings and concepts behind it. I highly recommend his tutorials.
